Actually, you're not crazy, people can have two cards, but I think it's usually two of the same cards. Is that right, Skadi?

Dual Cards: Yes it is possible, but very very finicky. Must be same model from the same manufacturer and best to be same batch to make sure.

You can, however, stick two cards in if you want to run multiple monitors.

POOKI!!!    :hugme:    Ya know, I just had the cover off a week or so ago to get rid of a gazillion dust bunnies. Still, I have no idea what the answer would be to your question. All I really know is that there are unused slots in there. The son told me a couple of them are for memory..guess I could take it off again and see what's what. Since I need to move my tower to hook up some speakers (can't fit my hand in the little space that's left to get to the back) I'll take the cover off while it's out. (Just to answer your question- since the cards are going to be different anyway and I only have the one monitor.)

The big things to watch out for when you're replacing your graphics card is whether you've got enough power supply-you should be able to work that out from talking to the guy you're buying your card from and check what type of slot you've got. There can be a number, including pci express and agp. If it's an agp, your choices will be limited and a bit expensive. There's some instructions on RYG that explain how to do it. http://reclaimyourgame.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=106&Itemid=55

Oh and on a personal note, hitting the orange button at the back of your power supply at 4 in the morning during this process is expensive, it blows up your pc.

*facepalm*
Better just to stay away from the insides and back of your pc at 4am altogether.

umh yep.. and I wish I'd let my commonsense overwhelm my bloody mindedness. It would have been so much cheaper, apart from anything else.

 :o

I'll be sure to check, but the power supply should be alright. I had to replace it - a year and a half ago?- and at that time I was thinking of upgrading a few things. So I asked the guy if the power supply I got would handle the upgrades I was thinking of and he said definitely, it would.
Note: For the life of me I can't remember what upgrades I was thinking of doing at that time..but I think the graphics card was one of those things. That and more memory I think. Of course, that doesn't mean that it would be alright now..so I'll check it out and I'll be sure to avoid any orange buttons that throw themselves in my way.  ;)

Lisa (Calipip4) is a very good person to ask for advice, as is Viv.. replacing the graphics card by itself is fairly straightforward, it's when the power supply gets into the mix that it can get a bit complicated. The main thing is whenever you're ready, make sure to ask plenty of advice and you should be fine.

I get the impression that the work day will feel like a tomb adventure. I wonder how they will handle motives?

I'm getting that feeling too. Y'know, get a phone call to look for the Landgraab diamonds, that sort of thing?

I wonder how they will implement it. Can only one family member at a time be followed? The only way I can think of doing it is halting time while you follow them on their work day, then returning to normal time to follow the house until 5pm [or shift end] comes by and then the sim will arrive home. I mean, how else could you do it? Say you have a typical family - 2 parents and a toddler for example. What would happen to the people at home during the first sims shift? I think I will reserve judgement on this EP until the reviews start coming out. I need to know the gameplay impact.

I'd imagine it'll be the same as now, where you're able to see everyone unless you're on holidays. This may not be a bad thing, there seems to be a point reached where the game itself can get deeply boring.

I don't like taking 2 people on adventures, I find it too fiddly.

I think the issue with adventures is it's a bit difficult to just send them on a holiday, although it can be done. Even on level three the phone tends to ring after a couple of days.

I kinda like it though because if you want to build up the financial wealth of your family fairly quickly, it's not a bad way.
